Description of the REST-NL model

A model for elaborating transport energy scenarios for the Netherlands

The REST-NL model has been developed for running scenario calculations on the Dutch transport energy mix. For a given scenario the model provides insight into greenhouse gas emissions (both tank-to-wheel (TTW) and well-to-tank (WTT)), air-pollutant emissions, total cost of ownership (TCO), costs to society and tax revenue, generating results for 2020, 2030, 2040 and 2050. The strength of the REST-NL model is that the reference scenario can be used for straightforward creation and running of new scenarios that can be modified at will.
