Electricity products: the facts

This study reviews the nature, source mix and, where applicable, origin of the Guarantees of Origin (GoO) of 61 electricity products from 30 power suppliers.

For each of the products the following questions were answered:

  • What are the constituent energy sources?
  • Is the ‘green’ electricity sourced domestically or abroad?
  • If biomass is used, what is its composition and how is to sourced?

The study reviews a total of 45 ‘green’ and 16 ‘grey’ electricity products from power suppliers active in the consumer and/or small-business market. For each company, a factsheet with all the relevant information has been drawn up.
