Segmentation of Dutch logistical activities

One of the targets the ‘Logistics Top Sector’ has set itself is to reduce freight transport CO2 emissions by the year 2020. Within this framework CE Delft was commissioned by Connekt to carry out an analysis in order to break down Dutch freight transport CO2 emissions into segments. This segmentation matches up with the Top Sector’s proposed directions for action and provides additional insight into the scope for CO2 abatement measures in freight transport. The results are reported in two publications:

  • The first report reviews the overall CO2 emissions associated with Dutch logistics by market segment and freight type.
  • The second report zooms in on urban logistics, distinguishing segments like construction, fresh goods, home deliveries and retail.
