Passenger Transport

At the heart of our research and consultancy on this theme is the drive to reduce the CO2 and air pollutant emissions of passenger vehicles, but we also have substantial expertise on the impacts of policies and technical measures on noise, traffic safety and congestion.

We conduct policy studies for government, from the EU through to local authorities, and provide policymakers with building blocks like easy-to-consult vehicle emission tables, surveys of new technologies and barriers to their implementation. We carry out projects for companies (e.g. fleet owners, vehicle importers and providers of new mobility services) and trade associations, developing mobility scans or tools for quantifying carbon footprints or costs, for example.

Key fields of expertise

  • Vehicle standards
  • Electric  vehicles
  • Influencing mobility choices

Analysis and advice

We advise government, from the de EU through to municipalities, and provide easy-to-consult vehicle emission tables, surveys of new technologies and barriers to their implementation.

STREAM Passenger Transport

The STREAM model calculates the emissions of the various modes (car, bus, rail, air), factoring in all relevant variables and taking in both greenhouse gases and air pollutants like nitrogen oxides and particulates.
