Publishers occupy a key position in the magazine supply chain, taking decisions on price, market/target group and the magazine’s purpose as well as on paper grade, format and printers. They can therefore also play a key role in improving the environmental and sustainability profile of their magazine. This project examines the environmental effects of changes in Op Pad and SNP Reismagazine, travel magazines published by ANWB. The study shows that publishers can indeed play a role in the drive to sustainability, simply by critically examining their own contribution. To establish the precise impact, CE Delft performed an LCA of the entire magazine supply chain.
