As required by the heat programme of the municipality of Woerden, exploratory studies for natural gas-free heating and cooling solutions are conducted for a couple of neighbourhoods. This report is about the study for Molenvliet, in the southwest of the municipality of Woerden. CE Delft and MSG Sustainable Strategies have investigated several scenario’s what the effects and recommendations are concerning different sustainable heating techniques. The scenarios are compared in terms of financial, CO2 emission and practical applicability, both on the dwelling scale as well as the neighbourhood scale. With this study the municipality of Woerden, in close co-operation with the inhabitants, can issue subsequent in-depth studies to choose the best combination of individual heat pumps and a district heating network for Molenvliet.
