The municipality of Delft wants to be free of natural gas and fossil fuels by 2050 at the latest. The municipality must therefore look for new methods for heating, cooking and showering, which is called heat transition. The municipality’s vision for this is set out in its Heating Plan. The vision provides direction for the implementation of heat transition in the coming years. The Heating Plan provides an initial insight into the potential for natural gas-free heating in each neighbourhood. It also indicates which neighbourhoods the municipality considers promising for implementing the Heating Plan before 2030. CE Delft supported the municipality in drawing up this Heating Plan.
