The municipality of Deventer will meet its 2025 target, but additional policy is needed for 2030 and 2050
The municipality of Deventer is working on the ‘Implementation Programme for the Deventer Energy Vision’. The municipality has set a target of achieving a 55% reduction in CO₂ emissions by 2030. To this end, it aims to programme for a 60% reduction by 2030. Deventer also intends to contribute to the national objective of becoming climate-neutral by 2050. In addition, Deventer has set an interim target of a 32% CO₂ reduction by 2025.
Our calculations using the CEGEM model (Dutch) show that the 2025 target will be met, but that additional policy measures are required in order to meet the 2030 and 2050 targets.
Alongside an emissions forecast, we have also provided insight into the significant investments associated with the energy transition.
