The Metropolitan Region of Rotterdam – The Hague (MRDH) is working together with the 23 municipalities in the MRDH region to reduce CO2 emissions from the mobility sector. The guiding principle is the regional goal of the Accessibility Implementation Agenda to achieve 30% CO2 reduction by 2025 compared to 2015. Previous studies have shown that the combined effects of current European, national, regional and local policies are insufficient to meet the reduction target.
This study is an update of the previous calculations. The reason for this update is that new information is available which we have used to update the calculations. This update of the calculations mainly concerns the effects of EU and national policies. We adjusted the calculated effects of regional and local policies only when this was indicated by the new baseline forecast.
