Support for Leeuwarden Audit Chamber

Sustainability and renewable energy have featured prominently on Leeuwarden’s municipal agenda for many years and the city council has set itself two key targets for the year 2020. The first is to achieve 20% energy savings in housing construction in 2020 compared with 2010. The second is to generate at least 1.41 PJ renewable energy that year.

The Leeuwarden Audit Chamber has assessed the extent to which current policies will indeed contribute to achieving these targets and how these aspirations can be translated into an appropriate mix of policy instruments. In that study the Audit Chamber was supported by Martijn Blom and Jasper Schilling, staff members of CE Delft.
