On 17 March 2001 the Marella Discovery berthed in Amsterdam. Local residents noted that the vessel had a clearly visible smoke plume. At their request CE Delft estimated the potential NOx, CO2, SOx and particulate emissions and how they compare with other Amsterdam transport emissions.
