This study assesses financing mechanisms for decarbonising inland waterway transport. It examines investment needs, existing funding and financing instruments, and barriers to bankability. It also identifies policy measures to strengthen business cases, reduce risks and improve access to capital for vessel retrofits, clean propulsion and supporting infrastructure.
