This study explores the potential of solar thermal as a heat source in de RES region ‘Rivierenland’. Solar thermal is one of the few high-temperature (>70°C) sources available here that can thus be used for heating the built environment without much electrical upgrading. The study investigates the potential of solar thermal systems, both roof-top and field, estimating total potential in spatial, technical and practical terms.
