The energy transition has significant spatial implications. Municipalities have only a limited understanding of these, and there is a lack of good information to exchange insights on this topic within the municipality, with other departments, and with entities such as grid operators and district heating companies. This leads to an inefficient approach and hinders an integrated policy within the municipality where energy (spatially) is taken into account. For the municipality of Arnhem, Duurzame Stad has developed an energy map. Relevant map layers have been compiled, and data management in Arnhem has been incorporated. Operational officials have been trained on how to use this data in their daily work. CE Delft provides an annual update of this energy map.
