Fenneke works at CE Delft as a researcher/consultant on the theme of Sustainable Cities. She has a multidisciplinary background encompassing both economics and environment & energy. During her academic training she researched the spatial-planning implications of the energy transition. She also studied the transition from an economic perspective: which measures yield the greatest social benefits and which are the most cost-effective? As a researcher at the Free University of Amsterdam she carried out data analyses on the relationships between spatial aspects of the historical energy transition and economic growth. At CE Delft she’s translating this know-how into straightforward recommendations, user tools and (GIS) maps relating to heat, energy and the built environment.
