This study analysed and assessed the cost-effective potential for energy savings in all sectors, for the EU as a whole and at Member State level.
In a consortium led by ICF Technologies, the energy savings potential was determined for energy intensive industries, the residential and commercial sector, and the road transport sector. CE Delft was responsible for the analysis of the transport sector. We identified the main energy saving measures in transport and calculated the savings potential and cost of each of these measures, for the period until 2030. The study was commissioned by the European Commission, DG Energy.
