Towards integrated care systems in freight transport:

Quality care systems can help companies develop strategies to align their operations with the interests embodied in the ‘Three Ps’ (people, planet, profit). For the Ministry of Transport and Public Works (General Freight Transport Division) CE has examined the potential for introducing integrated quality care systems in the freight transport sector. By encouraging market parties in this sector to develop and implement such systems, it is hoped they will improve their environmental performance. This study provides:

• A review of ongoing developments in this area.
• An analysis of how satisfactorily and effectively existing systems work.
• Recommendations on available options for developing an integrated quality care system.
