The transition from diesel to zero-emission (battery-electric or hydrogen) powered trucks requires extensive groundwork and investigation. It involves more than just the purchase of a zero-emission truck: it means considering available charging facilities, a sound business case and necessary adjustments in operations. To help transport operators and shippers get started on this complicated process, a clear roadmap was commissioned by Topsector Logistiek. The steps do not necessarily have to be performed in the order indicated: they can be performed in parallel or, depending on interest in a specific topic, earlier. In addition to a brief description of each step, we refer to sources for more in-depth information via links. This roadmap was prepared by CE Delft in close cooperation with Transport en Logistiek Nederland (TLN) and several logistics companies.
