The municipality of Huizen has announced its ambition to become energy-neutral by 2030, while being cognizant that this target cannot be practically achieved within this period of time. CE Delft was asked to investigate what options are nonetheless feasible. These are set out in the present report, which accompanies a separately published ‘Reference measurement’ and ‘Catalogue of Measures’ as part of the same study.
On 19 February 2015 an interactive meeting took place in Huizen, where stakeholders and other interested parties discussed energy measures that can or should be implemented by the local authority. This yielded local information and measures that have proved valuable for the present study. The main measures to come forward are included in the ‘Catalogue of Measures’. The present report describes the current situation and outlines the challenge now facing Huizen.
