Energy market on the move – Thinktank on Energy Market Reform

The energy market is in a state of rapid flux and will remain so for the coming decades. The emergence and growth of renewable, intermittent energy sources in the Netherlands and elsewhere, increased interconnectivity with neighbouring countries, development of electricity storage capacity and new technologies in the realms of mobility and heat, to name just two examples – these are all developments that impact on energy supply and demand and thus on the energy market. The aim: to join forces in deepening our analysis, estimating the impact of technological and policy developments, identifying key interests, getting to grips with intended and unintended consequences of market-based solutions, pragmatically, without supporting any particular position. The horizon is post-2020, through to 2030.
