CE Delft calculated the emission factor for supply chain emissions for heat grids for CO2emissiefactoren.nl. This involves the supply chain emissions from heat produced in the Netherlands for heat grids, for the years 2022 to 2030.
CO2 emission factors of energy carriers, passenger transport, freight transport and refrigerants are available on CO2emissiefactoren.nl. These emission factors can be used by consumers, organisations and businesses to calculate their climate footprint.
End-user heat chain emissions are 6.82 kg CO2-eq./GJ in 2022 and are expected to decrease to 4.10 kg CO2-eq./GJ in 2030. In combination with the direct emissions calculated by RVO (2022) and CE Delft (2030), the total CO2 emission factor of heat for the end user is 30.96 kg CO2eq. /GJ in 2022 and is expected to be 14.60 kg CO2-eq./GJ in 2030. When calculating supply chain emissions, we adhere to the calculation rules applied by heat companies and RVO. This involves basing emissions for 2022 on the deployment of heat sources as reported by heat companies, while emissions for all years up to 2030 are a forecast.
