Setting up agreements: From data to information

This report illustrates how modelling studies can better meet the information needs of stakeholders in the energy transition. It demonstrates the potential and challenges of a systematic analysis of the information chain and standardisation of information exchange down that chain, taking provincial energy system studies as practical examples. Standardisation also has other major potential benefits, including improved exchangability, efficiency, speed and consistency. To work in practice, there should be active involvement of the energy-modelling community as well as parties using the modelling results for energy system analysis and the energy transition in the widest sense.
