Inventory of additional climate policies. Amsterdam 2030

Possible expansion of the climate policy in the City of Amsterdam

Each year, CE Delft draws up an estimate of the anticipated emissions in Amsterdam in 2030. The Amsterdam City Council is targeting a 60% reduction in greenhouse gases in the city in 2030 compared to 1990. The estimates show that, based on current policy, reduction in emissions will be insufficient to reach that target.

In this study, we have made an interim update of the estimate and also formulated additional measures that the City of Amsterdam could take to achieve the 2030 target. This will require major effort on the part of the City Council, both to actually implement the plans already included in the estimate and to implement sufficient additional measures.
