Monitoring the effects of litter. A study on suitable indicators

The Directorate-General for Public Works & Water Manage­ment (Rijkswaterstaat) commissioned CE Delft to carry out a study to develop indicators for monitoring the effects of litter, more specifically to monitor progress on the four main aims of the National Anti-Litter Plan:

1. improve local environmental quality
2. prevent impacts on human and ecological health
3. reduce resource wastage
4. reduce social costs.

The  indicators can be used to flesh out the aims of the National Anti-Litter Plan in more detail and evaluate progress.
