Factsheets: Carbon footprint

CE Delft has prepared fact sheets to assist the municipality of Schouwen-Duiveland in determining appropriate advice to its residents and provide rationale for its climate policy choices.

In line with national and regional targets, the Schouwen-Duiveland municipality aims to reduce its emissions by 59% by 2030 compared to 1990 and adhere to its CO2 budget to keep global warming below 1.5 degrees. The fact that the municipality has a CO2 budget means that it is not only the direct emissions that are relevant for shaping policy, but also the emissions over the chain: from production, to use, to waste.

These fact sheets examine the various choices Schouwen-Duiveland residents can make with regard to the themes of Housing, Mobility, Food, Recreation, Business and CO2 storage. The total lifecycle emissions of each choice are identified and how they relate to each other. In a separate document, the municipal procurement options are also identified.
